Alegria in Spanish means joyful, delight, enjoyment… and we at Alegria Dance believe that everyone can experience this “Joy” of Salsa. We specialize in the street Latin dances of salsa, cha cha cha, bachata, merengue and the Cuban salsa circle dance called casino rueda. We also offer generalized dance instruction, such as looking good doing your first wedding waltz, and kids dance to common songs as a summer camp activity. We are happy to accommodate your interests and requests.

First…

Tuesday May 14 2013: Virgilio is djing the Latin night at the Oasis Dance Club in Ithaca NY.  Starts at 10pm and goes until 1:30am.  NO COVER = FREE! Salsa, bachata, merengue, cha cha cha.  Not sure how to dance?  Virgilio will get you on the dance floor with a few tips.

May 4th: Monthly SMAC Latin dance in Endicott, NY.  Typically first Sat of every month.  $5 cover. Check out the facebook event

May 8th: Swing Dance @ Rexers Karate Academy (105 Washington Ave, Endicott, NY 13760).  This is a weekly Tuesday event that starts with a beginner/intro to east coast swing lesson 7:30-8:15pm. Following the lesson its a DJ-ed open dance from 8:15- 10:30pm. Cost is $3 dollars or $2 if you have a valid student ID.

May 10th:  Inn Complete Dance in Syracuse, NY: 610 Skytop Rd at Syracuse University from 8pm – midnight.  Emphasis is swing, with ballroom, salsa, and more added to the music. No cover for this event.  This is held on 2nd Saturdays of the month from Nov through May, but the last dance is being held on the 2nd Friday as the palce will eb closed Saturday.

May 18th: Salsa Libre @ Binghamton Riverwalk in Endicott,NY.  Free live Latin music.  Event has not been created yet, but it is identical to the one in March and that facebook event page is https://www.facebook.com/events/142038572640077/
